SSL/TLS

SSL/TLS check: certificate, chain and protocol versions

Three TLS handshakes on port 443: one modern, one TLS 1.0 and one TLS 1.1 probe.

RUNS ON OUR SERVER

Limits: 10 checks per hour per IP, max. 10 light requests per run, ports 80/443 only, private and internal addresses are blocked. User-Agent: AssertwiseCheck/1.0. What we send and store.

What we check

Days until expiry (warning under 30, critical under 14), whether the hostname is covered by the certificate's SAN list, whether the chain validates against the public CA store (a missing intermediate is the classic mobile-client failure), the negotiated protocol and cipher, and whether deprecated TLS 1.0/1.1 (RFC 8996) are still accepted.
